Ok, here is my issue. I want to lose some weight. I barely eat anything all day (and have been doing that for awhile). In fact, some of my friends are like "seriously, that's all you're eating" when we go out. I tried going to the gym and working out but all I do is gain muscle and don't lose shit.

I have had thyroid cancer, and have had it removed. I've also had double hip replacements so i've got to be sort of nice to them so they don't break (which limits what I can do running/cardio wise). Its a common problem with Thyroid removal patients that they gain weight and can never get it off. So what the fuck do I do?

Because of your medical problems, I will leave this to Junior.

however, you would be amazed that if you ate more (in the right proportions) that you would lose fat.

Eating nothing slows your body down.....anything extra it gets would be stored. Why? Because as far as your body is concerned, you are always starving so it needs to store when it can.

Not that I know of. I take thyroid suppliments but it just makes sure the cancer doesn't come back.

I don't mean to not eat much, I just get filled up easy. I don't drink soda's or anything...mostly water all day.

Did not read thread.. but just sounds like you need to do something that is no contact. Elliptical may help. Then again I have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about. I've always been crack head skinny.. sooooo.

Elliptical may help.

Do this for cardio. It is low impact, so it will be easier on your hips as well as all of your joints in general. Every elliptical I have seen has preset inclines/resistances for whatever your goal is, and "fat loss" is always one of them. Basically what it is, is high intensity, followed by lower intensity, then repeat over and over. You don't even HAVE to do it exactly how the machine is preset, just get the basic idea. Like a couple minutes of a "3" then a couple at a "6" or something. You get the idea. As for the "I don't each much, and it is because I just seem to get filled up easily" part: eat 5-6 small meals each day. Whether you are hungry or not, do it. It will keep your metabolism running at all times, burning fat up. I'd recommend meals that are high in protein and low in carbs/fat calories. This will help you maintain the muscle while losing the fat, rather than having your body get rid of muscle to lose overall weight.

That not eating thing is only making it worse and you have fucked your metabolism. You've more than likely done some permanent damage to it. I have to raise most of my weight loss clients calories for them to lose weight. I've seen you make posts for years about trying to lose weight. Hire a trainer already. Not just any trainer make sure they know their shit. Where do you live I may know some good trainers down there. All this info that you're going to get on forums is something youve probably already heard before. You need a coach that can read your individual physiology. Weight loss is primarily a proper diet not exercise. And by proper diet I don't mean starve yourself.

are you taking synthroid? That's to replace the hormones that your thyroid produces which would put your metabollic rate back to normal.
