For any reason. The question here is IF you HAD to leave, and there was little option of repatriation.
What country would you chose to live in and WHY?

prolly UK. Pretty good economy and decent standard of living. Not as good as here but probably next best thing IMO

None of your reason has anything to do with the fact that English is the native tongue?

For a second choice I would say somewhere in Scandanavia. My second choice would be Norway, Finland, etc. They seem like nice places and I hear they have nice girls.

There are a few different places I have already looked into because I am interested in living in new places where I can develop more diversity. I love all the Nordic countries, although I have concerns about Iceland's economic performance and Sweden's growing conservative faction. I like the liberty in the Netherlands, but ironically their liberal approach that allowed such freedom of religion has drawn in a Muslim population that wishes to be more conservative. I also like Germany (my interest there centers around engineering). I love the UK because I like the people, the culture, and the incredible history.

Probably Holland or Canada, Canada because it is still close to the US and would be easier to see family and Holland because they seem like very laid back simple people who just seem to enjoy life. Seems like life would be simpler in such a place for some reason.
I would have said the Bahamas but I would need all the black people to move out first :fyi:

In the past, I would have totally agreed with you on that. But it seems that everything in Australia has the same starting sentence "The most deadly (fill in the blank) on Earth can be found in Australia."

Where would you move to? Since you came up with the idea
I would move to Sweden. I actually have citizenship there. I applied for it and was qualified to get it because i lived there for about 6 years.
I have lived in Denmark and Holland (for graduate work) and although both of those places are very hip and advanced,, Sweden does it for me. Even though I lived there for about 6 years, i speak very little Swedish. This is because ALL the Swedes will adjust their language for me. Kind of disappoint at times though because it is almost as if they are trying to prevent me from learning the language.
Regardless, Sweden and Norway are basically the most developed countries in the world (in general). I have not spent much time in Norway (even though my wife that I met in Holland is Norwegian). I do know that their minimum wage is about 30 (US) dollars per hour. And of course health care, education, university is free.
Some people have mentioned Dubai. The thing about Dubai is that if you arrive there with little or no money this is not the place to live. The way their immigration laws work do not allow EVER for foreigners to have access to their social services.
A good place to look to evaulate countries is the UN HDI (human development index) which rates countries on their general level of development.
Here is the most recent HDI. Granted, I think Iceland will be moved on the next one due to their economic crisis.
High Human
Development
1. Iceland
2. Norway
3. Canada
4. Australia
5. Ireland
6. Netherlands
7. Sweden
8. Japan
9. Luxembourg
10. Switzerland
11. France
12. Finland
13. Denmark
14. Austria
15. United States
16. Spain
17. Belgium
Here are the most SHITTY countries.
Low Human Development
154. Nigeria
155. Lesotho
156. Uganda
157. Angola
158. Timor-Leste
159. Togo
160. Gambia
161. Benin
162. Malawi
163. Zambia
164. Eritrea
165. Rwanda
166. Côte d'Ivoire
167. Guinea
168. Mali
169. Ethiopia
170. Chad
171. Guinea-Bissau
172. Burundi
173. Burkina Faso
174. Niger
175. Mozambique
176. Liberia

REGARDLESS. Maybe one of the reasons I love Sweden so much aside from the extremely high standard of living and social benefits is the Women.
They do have a HUGE social welfare system that many take advantage of. A friend once joked with me about this. When I finished my undergrad in 2003, I was SOOOO broke that i took food stamps for a few months. He was clowning about welfare and the fact that I was getting Swedish citizenship.. He joked . "dude.. you have traveled all over the world to find the BEST WELFARE..:fp::fp::laugh::laugh:
Back to the girls. I have been with girls from MANY countries and the scandinavians will allow you to PIIHB :boobies::boobies: more easily than ANYONE ELSE.
