I use these guys
http://www.firefold.com/100-Foot-Cat5E-350Mhz-Patch-Cable-No-Boot-P31102C208.aspx
They make pretty good cables and depending on if you are running it through walls and shit might be worth a few bucks for a little piece of mind :wat:
If you want the best I suggest monster cable for the cleanest signal

Holes are already cut in both rooms & wires are ready to be run. If that is your suggestion, I'll likely listen & buy it. I was thinking $30+ anyway.. so $10+ship isn't breaking my balls by any means.

I'm sayin'. I got PS3 & 360 in the basement.. while the router is in my room on our main level.

No reason, ive just dealed with Monoprice for years, from buying CAT 5 to HDMI cables, always very quality cables, nothing cheaply made.

I've heard its not a real good idea to scrimp on the price of cat5 wiring.

The only problem you can run into is the twists not being exactly 90 degrees which would increase the chances of crosstalk. Honestly I've used CAT 3 for data in a pinch. The rest of the install was clean, so no problems.
