I'm thinking of doing an iB setup in the IS and was fucking around tonight making templates with some old school Lanzar red rings (OA12) that are made for free air.

Results were so-so. This is my last week to do something before the freezing ass cold sets in so I'm thrashing to figure something out.

I used a PPI A404.2 for a reference amp, Mcintosh head. Just not getting the sound I want. I am trying to do without a box, but I have to do something other than this.

What I have in mind is porting through the armrest with the 12's and sealing the back deck.

So, above the amp here the armrest folds up and ports through the back into the trunk. I'm thinking set the 12's there in a V and just blow through there, seal the deck.

Should have seen me in the trunk after removing the cross beams that twist and hold it up. I was flexxing all over the place.

thats fuckin baller right there. When I was a kid my pops had only a few things he cared about, and one was his MCintosh home stereo gear. The coolest thing to me is how they always make their gear look like their retro stuff, yet its modern looking.

Still baffles me why you have a world-class transport and won't spend the $25 for material that's a step up from someone's basement shelving.

Nothing has been "installed", but thanxK?

So today I go looking for a second option. I decide to slide by the pawn shop to see if any custom boxes have been brought in to save me from freezing my ass off building one.

I find a 3/4 MDF OBICON tuned port box for $30. :D

I also get a free shitty MTX 12.

.....which I dump for the Lanzar OA12.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5/audiogodz1/IMG_0998.jpg

.......and it turns out it fucking SLAMS. So I'm going to try my RF 12, my Autotek Silver series (1995) 12, and my TC sound Eclipse Aluminum 12 and see which sounds best in the box and go with it.

I'll be pulling the PPI and going with Fultron MX amps.

lmao damn. Infinite Baffle yields some nice results in home theater... never had a chance to hear it in a vehicle. I toyed with the idea of two FI 18" IB3s due to the money I'd save not having to buy a high power amp, but settled on an 18" DC Level 5 where my rear seat used to reside.... BOOM
