Just draw each piece as 3/4" thick. What is not to get? Once you get the hang of it, you can design some crazy stuff with Sketchup and BassBoxPro.
Does this mean I get bored alot?

If you have the bottom piece of a box, and want to add sides, just draw a line 3/4" in from the side. Then use the drag tool to pull it up, or just draw the side sheet sticking off the bottom.

lolz. ELEMENTARY, MY DEAR WATSON!
What I do on a regular box, is do the internal, then use the push/pull tool and offset it .75" (or whatever size you're gunna use.
As far as the hole for the sub, you can do the same. Push/Pull INTO the face. It should click once you get to it's thickness, and you click and, voila! A hole.

But, honestly, you don't need the 3D. The 3D is for cute things, or things like the one I posted where you can't just do a 2D one because the height is a constant. This is what I normally do:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v714/TwistedShot/DAD315LO.jpg
The 3D thing is cool at first. But then you realize it's a waste of time.
But the push/pull tool is your friend. I can turn that 2D rendering into a 3D rendering in about a minute flat. If that.

A 3D rendering of my room, completely to scale. Even the desk's cut out is to scale. FML.
Although I did push the futon over and put a night stand toward my door.

The actual mapping of my room, not too long. Most of it was spent measuring. The stand thing, which I can no longer use do to changes in my equipment, took many sessions, each session being 3 hours a piece. It's really fucking detailed. Like, sick-nasty detailed.

Oh, shit. You mean the TV stand?
The desk is the thing in the closet. That "complex" thing is a TV stand / snake cage holder / Computer case.

I was unsure where to put it.
The bottom tray is a housing for a computer. Hence the push/pull fan system. :duh:

Snakes like hot. Not cold. Plus the bottom part is too small for my snake. The part right above it, but underneath the top part (but is still closed in) is where my snake cage goes.

Did you actually look into the cost of building that? I'm kind of curious on the price to make glass for something similair to that.
dont imagine a small sheet of glas or the plastic equivalent would be that much

Yeah. I don't think it would. But, I would want the angled router-type finish on the ends.
I was actually wondering if instead of going in, it could go out. So rather |_|\___| It could be like |_|/------|
So that instead of the bump, it's more smooth.

Well I changed the dimensions a tiny bit since that sketch. Here's the new design:
Width 30 in.
Height 13.5
Depth 10.75
Port Height 12
Port Width 2
Port Length1 8
Port Length2 23.5
1.328 ft^3
