View Full Version : I'm chubby...but I've got a plan :)

The weight just crept up on me


I was 158-160lbs last year....now I am at 172lbs, mostly belly (5'10")


-I usually drink 4-5 glasses soda a day (no water)...I'm cutting that shit out

My Plan: 1 glass of soda and 8-10 glasses of water


-My stomach is flabby and I have fat handles (I have close to a 37" waist)

My Plan: Diet

-I eat 3-4 big meals a day....fatty foods. I am planning to eat 2-3 small meals a day and eat more fruits/vegetables. Protein shakes would substitute a meal. Less Carbs = Good!


-I miss the abs that I used to have a couple of years ago

My Plan: Focus Exercise

Other than some minor cardio, I plan to do some exercises that focus on my lower abs and sides.

I also bought an ab-wheel :)

4 main exercises that I will do every morning

-elbow plank (hold still for 15-20 secs....3 sets)
-long arm crunch (3 sets of 10-15)
-bicycle crunch (3 sets of 10-15)
- ab wheel rolls (1 set of 5...the gradually go up per week)

ab wheel rolling is hard y0!



I will post results every month

what do you suggest?


I have no time to go to the gym and I could only workout in the mornings...sometimes at night (busy schedule)


I thought diet had a lot to do with weight loss :confused:

I am a soda freak...cutting that out is an accomplishment lol


I'm cutting carbs and fatty foods...and eating more fruits/vegetable


I will occassionally substitute a meal with a protein shake


I never drink water, now I am planning on drinking 8-10 glasses


Any help will be appreciated :)

I'm definitely not one to look to for advice broseph, but I can say that you should bump your meals up to 4-5 a day and make them smaller. Try to stay away from sugars, and carb are not always your enemy.

Good luck though, I need to get back on my diet as well to be honest. Luckily I haven't gained any weight back, but I haven't lost any more either.

Your diet/plan sounds too complicated. I don't think you'll stick with it.

Also 5'10" at 180 with a 37" waist doesn't add up to me. Of course i'm 5"7.5 (although the way most people measure i'm damn near 5'9) 145 28-29" waist. When I was 160 i was 30-31, but i was also still fighting so i realize its not apples to apples.

Ya, your plan is setting you up for failure. Don't feel bad though, most people think this way. If you want some help, PM me. More than willing to lend a hand now that I have a bit of spare time.

I have been at it a week

been doing all the workouts minus the cardio

I have been drinking 7-8 glasses of water a day....almost no soda (1/2 a cup a day)


I've been getting headaches (soda withdrawals lol)


I'm also eating 4 small meals a day and cut the carbs.



I will post results next month...but so far so good :)

update:

I went up to 182lbs!

I started exercising a bit and drinking nothing but water (half a glass of soda a day)

Protein diet...tuna fish & chicken breast mostly, I cut down the fatty foods. I drink 100% gold standard whey and syntha-6 shakes

(officially the beginning of March when I was at 182lbs.)

I am currently at 168lbs and lost most of my belly

I lost close to 2" on my waist and added a bit of muscle

I'm at 160 lbs now (stress and work)...I look pretty skinny at 5'11"
