The only one I've heard IRL was decently loud, it just sounded like ass.

I always lock my car and use my stock alarm. I'm happy with what it came with as it disables the ignition upon setting off the alarm wether it's breaking into the car or setting off the sensors.

I thought the same thing until my dad got his radio stolen out of his old truck. Since then, we lock our cars at night, well me and my dad do. My mom has nothing in the van that she cares about lol

You can get louder for $350. A single SA12 would outperform 2 L7s.

I know, bro. I hate trying to snip wires while someone's car alarm is blaring in my ear.

Just look for the "protected by" stickers in the windows. That way you know what type of alarm, and with a quick google search know how to bypass it without even touching the car ;)

Does anyone make an alarm that will last the lifetime of the vehicle, as well as a durable FM remote?

Seems like car alarms are way behind the times in quality and design.

Yes, but they're like the Apple of the alarm business. Expensive as fuck and still doesn't perform up to par.

LOL dei does make an add on interface that allows you to use an app and a smart phone. The add on is $300 by itself.

x2, I never lock my doors either, even though i have an aftermarket alarm, and with my vehicle, polaris ranger, waverunner and boats...I find it easier keeping up with them is to just leave the keys in the ignitions...same with farm trucks and tractors.

Anything from DEI has always been stable for me and the remotes seem to last longer than all the generics I've got over the years.

I'm using a generic that NG recommended to me YEARS ago.

Thing went off for absolutely no reason last night, when I tried to re-arm it it went off immediately again. At like.... 2am.
