I was about 2 seconds away from pulling the trigger on the Bowflex Tread Climber. But for $1298+ $199.99 for shipping and only a year warranty, I passed. In fact the $1298 model was the cheapest, there are two models above it, $2499 and $3299...
So after trying my friends out for a couple days, I bought this. Pick it up in a week @ scumart. Any feedback would be appreciated, seems like it should help me accomplish my goals. I have lost 30 pounds in a month and a half. I believe if I add this to my routine, I should have no problem getting the rest off.......:grin3:

Went from 270 in early December to 240, well today I am 238. Trying to get back down to around 195. I have always been between 180 to 195, depending on if I work out or not. 5'11", btw......

I can gain muscle just by looking at weights, trimming is another subject..... Maybe I just never had the right plan.... Working out with my best friends was a bitch to say the least. Seeing as they do nothing at all to look like this.....:(

Glad you didn't buy that damn jokeflex POS. You'd be smart to pass on that wannabe treadmill as well. Many treadmill companies tried in the past to incorporate moving handles on treadmills and all have failed miserably. One company had to fold because of it. Do some research and find a good treadmill, for a good price. I sell gym equipment for a living, and have many years in the industry. Don't be like all those people that buy one "just because", or "it was a great price!", and then end up selling them on craigslst 6 month's later because they're crap.
Here's a review on the Gold's Gym POS.

Check that website out. Great info on what to look for in a treadmill. Also, if you want some advice, by all means, feel free to PM me, I can help you locate one that will do what you need it to, and won't break the bank.

A realistic weight lose per month is about 8-12 pounds(2-3 pounds pre week). so keep that in mind and don't try and rush it, because you won't be doing yourself any favors. Check out the fit tips, I've posted in the body transformation contest section. I've basically laid out how exactly to do your cardio to get the most out of it.

Sounds like you need a knife & vacuum, not a treadmill.

Then what would you suggest? Just a cheapo treadmill? My woman has been after me to get that treadclimber as well, I said what you said. She wants answers. :fyi:

Fuuuuu I already bought it, wonder if I can get a refund. I don't have that many places to look/try out exercise equipment. I refuse to buy something off the internet with out being able to first physically see and use it...And shipping on this big bulky shit would break the bank. Guess it was a good thing I did not buy the bowflex....... I will check that site out, thanks for the link!

The problem with the treadclimber is that it puts your knees in a sheering point. What that means is that it has a tendency to place your knee in front of your foot and puts a lot of preasure on them, causing jarring. Also, if you look at bowflex as a company, they lost over $90,000,000.00 as a company last year. I don't know how along a company like that will last.
One of the best bang for buck treadmills out there right now for "lower cost" treadmills, are Lifespan's. But you need to find a treadmill for your own needs.
Let me ask a few questions first. Who will be using it? Just her, both of you, the whole family? What will it be used for? walking, jogging, running, Higher sprinting, a mixture of all of the above? How heavy are the users that will be using it? How tall are the users that will be using it? What is your price budget? Are there any features that you really want on it? Like heart rate cruise control, incline or decline, fold up or stationary, specific speed? Answer these, and I can help you pick one out for ya.

I'm not sure if they're available in the states, or what junior's opinion of them are, but we bought a Tempo Fitness 620T treadmill a couple years ago. My ex put that thing through hell, when she started she was 275+ and she lost about 125lbs just from using it. She hardly changed her diet, but was on it for 2 hours a day every day.
Still works like new, and has a ton of cool little features.

No, don't buy a nordic Track, as Nordic Track is no longer the same company as it was in the 80's and 90's. They ended up selling their name off, and now all their product is crap, but still has the Nordic Track name stamped on it.
