I have been going bald pretty much since right after high school (1998). I am at the point now where it just seems stupid to not buzz it. I am trying to find a good set of clippers so I can just cut it myself. Anybody out there have any recommendations of some good clippers?
I just have a cheap set from remington, but they keep my fade lookin tight yo!

OSTER brand
you can go as cheap as
Amazon.com: Oster Professional AZTEQ 15 Hair Clipper #76975-016: Health & Personal Care@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Aq2N2BcZL.@@AMEPARAM@@41Aq2N2BcZL
or as deep as:
Amazon.com: Oster Power Line Clipper 76076-010: Health & Personal Care@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4193m4Gd1%2BL.@@AMEPARAM@@4193m4Gd1%2BL
I have a cheap set that has lasted like 4 years of use at every hair cut.

the biggest thing whichever brand you go with is to oil it after use. I oil mine, turn it on for a second so the oil gets between the blades and put it away for next time.
you can also shave your pubes with it.

LOL
I have a $25 Wal-Mart Wahl too.
The previous pair of clippers I used were some my room mate bought for $10. We both got shaves twice a month from it for about 2 years before it crapped out.

My wife is a hairstylist for a living and this is what she uses for trimming purposes.

this is the truth. i have used more expensive clippers with no oil and they start to loose the ability to cut hair quickly and cleanly very quick. you start getting staggler hairs and you have to go over the same area over a few times, or you can only go so far before the hair bundles up and clogs the trimmer.
then i started buying cheaper but keeping them oiled and they work titties for MUCH MUCH longer. in fact the $20 trimmer with the color coded length guards has outlasted my expensive ones all because of IMO, oiling it properly and they are still cutting now. i also clean out all the hairs from the blades with the brush after every use.

How did you manage to see what you were doing? I'm guessing mirrors.
If I use a mirror (or two) for anything, I get a  and run the razor the wrong direction :crap:

I can trim above my junk and around the sides. I cant bring myself to use a trimmer on my sack. I am scared it will bite me in the balls.

it's more of a convenience thing to me. I have a place I like to go where the lady takes all of 7 minutes to buzz my hair, then charges me 12 bucks. I give her a twenty and tell her to hang onto it. I drove 20 mins to get there, then have to drive 20 mins home all itchy until I hit the showers. easier to DIY, put that 20 towards something for me and keep miles off my car.
clippers are money in the bank if you are just a buzz cut puke like me.
