Don't really care about being able to watch DVDs just want to not have to stick the GPS on the window every time I'm driving somewhere.
I've seen a few but they require an expensive add-on, I'd also like to be able to play music from my Vibrant on it if possible not really sure how far that has come along but I could live with a USB or SD port and I don't need a actual CD slot I know some are just 'media' receivers now.
thx

Really? I'd like to get at least a JVC or better as far as brand. I know tappy was selling one cheap figured they probably came in around $400 new?
Found some decent ebay deals but no warranty when you get them on ebay I don't think.

Also saw this but not too crazy about the screen :crap: http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-IXA-W404-NEW-4-3-LCD-NVE-M300-GPS-NAVIGATION-/370487645506?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5642c8d542

Yeah that Jensen Tappy had is in the same range. A friend of mine has had no problems with his eonon and I think pl8er had some good results as well. The software was no thrills but had all the function needed. I do not know of any offerings from bigger names that I could give any personal knowledge of.

that is true. I have had a garmin nav for years and I have only used it maybe a dozen times. I end up letting my friend borrow it more than I use it, the fucker should buy it from me.

The years of ground noise issues I've heard about (and dealt with) make me skeptical. Too bad I really like their home audio gear too. :(

I have a portable I'm trying to prevent having to clean the rings off my window twice a week.
I'll have to look into options I've seen the things where it mounts to the dash I wouldn't mind.
Where I live isn't a bad area but nav rings on the window in the city makes your ride hotter than a $6.99 KFC bucket and the ideal quick snatch for the baseheads :crap:

Yeah, I have a Garmin Nav that I was using. Gave it to my girl, she gave it back after she got her Vibrant. Google Maps can't be beat bro.

Does she stick it on the window? Saw this (http://cgi.ebay.com/Car-Mount-Holder-Samsung-Vibrant-Google-Nexus-S-/390280226104?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5ade83a538) but I'm not too sure how my vent is going to like holding up that fucking arm 24/7 all the time.

She has one of these:

The phone just sticks to it. It has a release to take it off when you leave the car. They have a vent mount too.

That Clingo mount is pretty bad ass.
I'm cheap though so I just bid a whopping $3 on a shitty one

Still looking at mounts but have been trying to pickup a HU, this needs a nav add-on and I'd probably not bother with a phone dock.
Pretty set on this HU, anyone have any experience with these?
