Little motivation for you pussies who are dropping out already.

At the first of January I struggled getting 305lbs 1x at a weight of 222lbs.

315x3 on my first set after warm ups today while weighing in 15lbs+ lighter.


This was the very next set after about a 2 minute rest.

And this was my first set up WG pull-ups after 5 total heavy sets of benches. Know I could have gotten more reps had I did them first.

I barely could get 7 reps of WG pull-ups at the start of Jan with no weight added.




Also realized my new camera is definitely not 720p like it claims. I dropped the video sizes by 100-200mb and the quality didn't suffer much.

Looking good, bro, but a couple of things to watch out for. On bench press, focus on keeping your ass on the bench. Lifting it off the bench with your feet takes a lot of the work off of your chest. Also on pull ups, I would not do behind the back, as that puts a lot of pressure on the rotator cuff and can cause some serious damage to them. Also, don't swing your legs forward at the top of the movement. Make sure your shoulders, hips and knees all stay in alignment up and down. By doing that, it will keep the focus on the back. But besides that, keep at it!

No behind neck pull ups? That fucking Arnold lied to me! They are harder to do than to the front, I know that. I have almost always focused on behind the neck b/c of The Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding.

And I swear that camera multiplies my accent!

Haha. Back in the day, they didn't give a shit about preventing long term injury. It was all about the right then, right there. Many of the old school bodybuilders now have significant body injuries from lifting incorrectly.

Interesting. I have never really read anything about behind the neck being harmful. Do you think you gain as much from the front pull ups? I know its easier keeping stricter form with them.

$80 @ Wally World. I am definitely disappointed in it. But I bought it to take to the woods with me..And cameras for that use usually last me 2 years or so. haha.Don't want to spend too much.

Definitely beneficial. Your back is one of the few muscles that is responsible for movements in two directions, downwards and backwards. By doing them in the front, you are using your muscles on a better angkle for those movements. It will help build thickness and width together.

Edit: I do notice my left lat doesn't look as wide.

The middle of your back looks like it took most of the gains. And that is where those kind of movements hit more. Your actual lats, to be honest, are rather small in proportion(don't take offense by this. This is just me judging you as if you were a competitive bodybuilder.) Pulling to the front will give you hella width to add to that middle thickness.

Add weight until you get about 235lbs that your pulling up. Then you will do what I did in that video.

Shoulders, hips, and knees are in alignment. All the way from a dead hang, to chin over bar. Elbows back, not in front. Arched lower back. Thumbs on top.
