You should cut the flap of skin off. Your body will automatically scab and heal underneath the tow, and will eventually kill off that piece of skin. It'll hurt, since there's still nerves. You could wait until it dies, then cut it. But, who knows how long that'll take.

if you just wrap it pretty tight (without cutting circulation) in bandage and padding, it shouldn't really hurt too bad to walk on...just make sure the skin is either removed or not able to move around, cuz that'll hurt like a bitch
