Yeah but that one has a filter and uv sterilizer built in :)
Porch Monkey
08-07-2011, 09:25 PM
UV is a joke on an outdoor water vessel lol, the sun does the samething for FREE
you better hope that filter can handle the flow rate of that pump(mfger's often package in the smallest filter with a big pump to keep the cost down and people in Texas buy them because of the big pump - we call it Texas Syndrome), or else you're going to be cleaning it often :)

Yea, because Koi are just so easy to raise.
Because this pond is too small for Koi :crap:
The fuck you talking about? Koi grow to their habitat. If it is small, they just stay small.

Pond by the front door huh? Good idea... looks cool... and keeps the mosquitoes around to swarm unwanted visitors.

Not sure if koi are any different, but this is a common myth in the aqueerium world.

Did they live to their full age?
Most people think that fish only grow to the size of their tank, when in reality all that's happening is their growth is stunted.
Nitrate build up, released hormones, inadequate surface area for oxygen exchange, and most importantly stress are all issues that lead to fish having stunted growth in a setting not adequately sized and maintained for them.

Or they were trolling the shit out of me.

Well if they would grow only when one would die, it could be due to stress- less nitrates, less hormones, more comfortable environment- assuming water conditions remained constant, they could be in non-growth due to stress, and simply growing when the stress is relieved.

Or it could be because they grow to their environment. We can give nature that credit bro. We don't need to invent these silly hormone theories.

Bro, that still works out for my theory. lol
Parents have a nice series of ponds and waterfalls in their backyard. Mom added koi to a couple of the pools for the lulz. They kept disappearing ... found out later that a local osprey was competing with the racoons to see who could eat her fish faster.
