Glad to see you are still in the business. I haven't fooled around with car audio in years.

I've been wondering what was up with Mach 5... had no idea you were affiliated with the company in any way. I'd like to use an 18 or 2 in my home theater. I was waiting for the Obsidian 18, but this one is looking nice....

yeah, it sucks when i spend more time here than i do working on mach 5/ist
this unit is sure a labour of love and the price will be modest compared to what i think it should be. nonetheless, it is not an 'entry level' product...

Yeah, I imagine it won't be priced as low as the Obsidian 18, which is understandable. However, yours may be out before the Obsidian woofer. I wouldn't mind having an IXL 18, but I see they're out of stock.

i have no clue what this obsidian is, nor am i really interested. the pi-18 will raise a few eyebrows, this much i know. :)
i will be revamping the ixl-18 in the near future but will still be aiming for the budget conscious buyer. we'll see what happens.
thanks for your interest.

Obsidian is the new "online only" brand Jake Fuller (Sundown) & Nick Lemmons (Stereo Integrity) made since SI is a fial & Sundown has started distributing via online outlets & IRL stores.
I didn't read the whole thread, however I'd love to priced on one of these bitches. I've been torn between a single 18 or 4 10s. Your price may sway my decision.. *hint hint*

Can you still do recones for the original ixl's? I got one of the 18.4's that is a single 4 and was wanting some better wiring options. Plus my surround is beat to hell.
And odd you hang around here most, Guess I found where I need to come.:D

i do have a drop-in recone kit for the original - single coil. anything beyond that will have to be custom made and i don't have ixl parts right now. let me know if you want it.
i work during the day so coming here blows off time when i feel i need to.

I guess I'm going to go into customizing it or getting a whole new one all together. I'm just planning on my next build just seeing what my options are right now. But its only seeing ~600 watts or so, she's ready for more:drool:
Mach5 needs to compete with this. If their subs don't look and weigh the size of a 1945 atom bomb, then it is fail.

you need to step your game up. Ditch that shitty pi series, and start switching to neo magnets.

I'd imagine it sounds like an old man flopping a plastic grocery bag around, with a Pa speaker system in the background announcing to clean up aisle 3.

Very similar, with the exception that 18 y/o's aren't spending ridiculous amounts of money because mad mike put one of us in a back seat of a pos buick
