noticed pm had the same. did you have yours removed yet?

for those of you who get one, don't waste time listening to wishy-washy doctors saying shit like 'oh if it happens again, we'll judge things then'.

just get rid of the fucking thing! it's a useless fucking organ that should have been phased out of evolution years ago.

When I was having gallbladder attacks the doctors told me it was indigestion. Finally a gallstone got stuck in my bile duct and I developed jaundice so they finally decided to do something.

pain goes right around you - front and back. you have this never ending groaning pain that will not subside. it doesn't matter if you are sitting, standing, laying down - nothing relieves it. pain killers of any type are useless. some people vomit, others become feverish. if you go to the hospital, if they are nice enough they will give you a shot of morphine. my wife wanted me to go to the hospital and i said what the fuck for? i can either sit there in pain or i can sit at home in pain - they won't do anything anyway.

i am now on an 8 month waiting list to have my gallbladder removed.

Wait, stop right the fuck there bro. I have a pain in my stomach that I get sometimes that hurts so bad that I get back pain at the same time. I seriously want to die some times. There's nothing I can do about it. Pain killers, antacids, nothing works. I just have to sit it out for an hour or two and suddenly it completely disappears. This happens like twice a year and I always thought it was an ulcer that flaired up when I ate overly spicy foods or too much dairy. Could I be experiencing the same thing you are, and misdiagnosing it?

sounds like it bro. lucky for you it dies down in a short period of time. mine lasted 2 fucking days!

i now have to watch what i eat - very little/no dairy, red meat, butter/oils, more greens, fruits. chicken with no skin, etc. it was a pasta sauce i ate friday night that really did me in - lots of cream i guess.

luckily, beer doesn't affect it :drunk:

Yea to much red pasta sauce will get me. Ice cream fucks me up too, but I can eat a block of chedder cheese and be fine. It is really wonky. Last time it got me was this summer when I had keobasa on pasta with alfredo sauce. Two fucking days would have me in the hospital purely so I could get that thing amputated.

Why does the gallbladder go loco bro? Did the doctors give you any insight?

it's a bit lengthy but i'll try to provide the cliffs:

- gallbladder functions as an extra 'holding tank' for bile
- gallbladder will release more bile than what is normally in the system if it feels like it
- high amounts of said food tend to trigger the gallbladder to dump more bile into the liver
- sometimes stones form in the gallbladder and get released creating a temporary plug, usually at the neck of the organ. this causes the pain
- pain can last from 1-24 hours but is dependent on how fast the stone moves; in my case it went two days
- when they remove the gallbladder, any bile not needed by the system is shunted to the intestines. this results in wetter shits/diarrhea if you have too much of already said food(s)
- the surgeon told me it could happen once, and then never happen again. i took his advice and did nothing. wrong move.
- i have had 5 minor attacks and 1 major attack since i saw him

I would take a week of diahrea over two hours of that pain. If mine ever starts lasting as long as yours, I'mma remove it myself if I have to.

yeah, its good for the minor shit but when things get heavy, that's when it begins to come apart. it is 8 months for a consultation with the surgeon. then if you can convince him/her that you need an operation they may be able to fit it in their 'tight schedule'.

i was at my gp today and gave her a bit of shit, telling her 8 months is crazy. she will be looking at other options/doctors in the city that perform the operation to see about how their schedule is.

canada's medical system is not broken - it just needs some serious organization and streamlining...
