I will be the first person to say that I'm not a fan of Fords.. but I am in need of an suv. I have a motorcycle for speed and now I need something much bigger for every other purpose. I found a 1995 Ford Explorer for 2500 and it looks to be in great shape with around 105,000 miles on it. Should I go for it? I just don't have the money I need to do what I want to do with my car.

the words "great shape" usually dont describe a 14 year old explorer. Low miles for that year. If interior is indeed, great, I say go for it.

Sounds like a good deal to me, also take into consideration how much you are going to start spending weekly on gas compared to before. I would prefer an SUV over a car anyday but with commuting to work it is just not realistic for me to spend $20/day in gas.

I work 5 - 10 minutes away so that shouldn't be a problem. If I do end up going to ISU next year, I will have a one hour commute tho, which would suck ass.
That does look like a good deal.

I'm going to see about taking a look at it either tomorrow or wednesday

looks OK but i'm not a fan of that version of explorer. i favor the 02+. i wanted an 02+ explorer or an 02+ grand cherokee but was denied with credit and ended up getting my civic. still wish i had gotten either of the 2. :/

If I was getting something 02 or newer I'd probably have to finance. I've financed cars in the past and will never do it again unless I have an excellent paying job, which won't be for a little while.

Which is the absolute only reason I'm being hesitant. I really need to buckle down and figure out what I'm doing with my life.

I go through phases with it. If I had a decent paying job, I would keep it no question about it. I just have so much I want to do but can't really afford to do with it. It hasn't been getting the attention it needs lately just because I've been busy and would rather spend the money elsewhere. If I can sell it for more than I want to buy that truck for, I'll probably try and do that.

Everyone has their opinion...but take it from an old guy..if you want something that will give you a long life and perform well get a ford or an import...ive prolly had 50 vehicles in my life..and i have always had alot better luck out of fords than anything else..well except my 1989 toyota truck...that thing was a tank
