So here is my problem with the whole plan so far. Well specifically the housing plan. I pay my mortgage, always do, like clockwork. Because of this, I will have to continue paying it. Now, if I would have said "fuck it" about 8 months ago, some judge would give me a reduced APR and save me about 300 a month to help me keep my house.

What type of logic is that?

But your credit would be shit.

I also have never missed a mortgage payment. I've paid every single one early. Both times.

Agreed. My point is that if you fuck up your taken care of, if you follow the rules you just need to shut up and keep following the rules.

Seems like they could do something to help those who are dying but still making it work.

I read somewhere that the money spent on the failing banks could have paid 40k down on all middle income mortgages in the United states. That would be some nice extra cash that I can guarantee that I would have spent and not kept :P

I am going to talk to the credit union to see how this plays out. It may be worth it...My credit score would drop a few hundred points, but I am not sure when I need credit again...and if I can get something easy like 4.5 fixed, I'd easily save 20-30k in the long run.

Indeed. That is the catch. For those of us that don't need excellent credit for another decade or so, there may be a way to take advantage of it. Let me know the outcome of your conversation.

There's no real use in letting people lose their house. Then they won't have anywhere to put all the shit they don't need. At this point, it's not about who fucked up, it's abnout getting the economy back to normal. Though I agree with the last part. There should be some added for people who work hard and are barely getting ends to meet. I live with my Mom now and I've been actively trying to find a job for months. There's no where to work. Literally. Not even McDonalds is hiring. She's struggling. I still manage to make enough money to cover most of my car insurance / phone. I've yet to ask her for money to go out since I was 16, though. But, it's really stressful for her, and she's gunna get shafted while slackers are gunna be prosperous. But that's how America works. Liars and cheaters live well, while honest folks struggle to survive.

My ex was like that. She went to every cult rally, and begged me to vote for Obama... literally BEGGED me. She still thinks he's doing an awesome job.
I mean, he's doing everything he's supposed to, in terms of an economic stand point.
I mean, we just learned about the "Multiplier" effect in Economics, and since we're a mostly consumer nation, it's pretty high. Thus, adding money into the system will cause more money to be spent.
What he's doing is theoretically sound. I'm just not sure if it's gunna work out too well.

We know it won't work. It didn't work for ol' Georgy Poo why would it work for the black knight?

Plus I listened to his speech on the first one BHO wanted to pass. His words were something like "there is NO pork spending or earmarks". Ummmmmm have you checked out the bill? I must not know what pork spending is, either that or he doesn't. Also, this whole thing was supposed to be bi-partition, he was the great uniter remember. And there is no way that any of this can be considered close to bipartisan.

Somewhere in the midwest, no doubt.
