Here is the breakdown and why I would recommend both for an avid or constant gamer.

PS3 - No denying the value from this machine. Great titles with outstanding hardware that doubles as a nice BR player. If I was a gamer, it would definitely be in my living room. thanks to the hardware you have visually appealing FPS experiences and some great movie resolution.


Wii - Hands down a great "local" multi-player platform. It can be used by all video game playing skill levels or even be fun for those who don't play video games. A good stock of "party" games coupled with physically controlling the game as opposed to just mashing buttons and pushing a joysticks appeals are interesting. I like the mechanics of game play for titles like golf, tennis, and racing games. Fails as a FPS graphics intense machine in a big way though. to top it off, this console can be hacked through software means allowing you to play "backup" images straight from a USB hard drive.
