I am looking for something cheap for my TV downstairs, I am far from an audiophile but would like a half decent setup as I would like to put my Logitech 2.1 computer set back on the computer where it belongs.
Are there any decent 2.1 sets with receiver under $500 or so? Wife wants the 3-2-1 setup from Bose but I know there is probably something much better available for cheaper.
It would mostly be used for watching movies streamed through my PS3 and ocassionally music and again I don't need anything great. My Logitech set sounded great to me I would just like the ability to also have a receiver integrated if possible for radio but not a make or break thing as I can still stream through my PS3 but would like the option.

DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A FUCKING AUDIO FORUM!?
No, but really, I don't think you can get a decent 2.1 set with reciever for under 500.
I'd say piece together something decent.
But that's just IMO.
And I didn't know you were married.

Sorry I don't know what you mean by 'on-wall' I am looking for a right / left and subwoofer setup. A 3.1 would also be fine but figured I would have more options with a 2.1.

I dunno.
True center channels are kind of worthless. I have one on my PC, and honestly, it rarely ever plays sound. It only does when I play a PC game. But then again, that's PC. Might be different for TV. Maybe a mono central and a left / right stereo? I dunno.

Samsung and Panasonic sell thing on amazon that has the 2 L/R speakers in one box. I think it is made for TVs that mount on the wall.

TwAT?
The center is responsible for reproducing the most information in an HT setup.

Do you know where to buy, that's in the states, instead of ebay? Every site I go to that sells them is out of the country.

A few months back I moved my Logitech Z-5500s out to the living room and hooked them up to my TV. It's a 5.1 set but man honestly for the price these speakers are great for PC gaming and definitely good for HT. But if you really want just 2.1 you could try the logitech Z-2300's, has an 8" woofer and like 150rms or something like that. I've never heard them play personally, there only like 90 bucks on the egg as well (newegg.com).
