As some might know, I have chronic stomach pains. It's at a point where I don't leave my house most nights because it hurts. So, I get scans, and tests nearly once a month. This month's was fun! It's killed a Pipida Scan. The one I did was a two step one. The first step, they inject a harmless radioactive isotope into you, then it monitors it as it goes through your gallbladder... here's where the problem lies.
You have to sit still.
For an hour. You can't move. At all. I made the mistake of putting my arm behind my head right when the test started and my arm was dead by 30 minutes.
So, then, that part ends and my doctor comes in and he's like, "You're going to hate me." "Why?" I ask, inquisitively. He then proceeded to inform me that he has to inject me with something called KKCY or something. He said "You're going to feel hot, and really nauseous." I thought, "Eh, it won't be that bad. It never i-" and right before I could finish my thought, my body felt like it was 150 degrees, and my stomach cramped up. Then, the worst part... it felt like I was gunna blow chunks... I felt like this for 10 minutes before it finally went away.
I just thought I needed to share my pain with CT.
Oh, BTW: Even after they injected me with that evil substance, I had to remain perfectly still. So, imagine being in intense pain, and having to stay completely still.
