i loves plasmas, now there are more projector big screens on craigslist for me...
for the budget 32" lcd hdtv, nothing compares to the Samsung LN32A450. The sony sucks and so does the Toshiba. A close second is the Panasonic 32LX85.

Philips breaks new ground in the realm of home entertainment with the world’s first cinema-proportioned LCD television. Cinema 21:9 lets you enjoy movies as you would in the cinema and just as the director intended. Cinema 21:9 boasts a 56” screen that is shaped in the 21:9 aspect ratio, so movies in the 2.39:1 format completely fill the screen – exactly as you experience at the cinema. Complimentary three-sided Ambilight Spectra combines with the on-screen action to completely immerse you in the movie and deliver the ultimate home cinematic viewing experience.

Wouldn't the 21:9 ratio cause some stretching or are all films actually recorded that way?

films would work...regular TV would probably suck

It would work on the ones you still see letterboxing on a 16:9, other than that, pretty much useless in my opinion.
I'd rather go with this...

I don't like the picture quality on any TV. It's always pixelated and shitty. Then again I haven't really seen a true HD setup with a decent TV. Still, who wants to pay 4k+ to get good picture? I'm too anal about that shit it sucks.

I would pay 4k if it gave me a much better picture than what I have now.
But then again...I'm ballin

I paid over 4k for two of my TV's together. :( Love the pictures on both sets though, so I am happy.

All i have is a 37'' Vizio LCD atm....but i have a 5 year warranty so when this thing is completely out of stock at sears i am gonna take it back demanding a new one...and cash in on the value of it to put towards a newer better TV
My next TV will be a projector... Plasma's are bad ass and all, but I want BIG.
Dont get me wrong, I like the plasma, and everything has its ups and downs... I wish that years ago I had spent the extra dough, AND gotten a smaller screen... But I didnt, I went with DLP, and at the time, it was the best deal. Had everything I wanted, worked perfectly for my set up, and was cheaper for a much larger screen...
This is the way technology works though, as soon as you buy it, it is out-dated :fyi:

I don't like peeps. You have to pay for the shipping and what ever it takes to fix it. UCP says that the internal LCD or some shit is broken. FedEx borked it when I shipped it to 97gp
I am actually interested... PM me some info?

I still have a tube TV as well. It boasts that it's SDTV. Although it does have the HD connectors in the back, it comes out regular. lolz.

What you have is a TV that can accept a "progressive scan" DVD player...
I has one of these as well..
It was the HD predecessor by a few months...

My monitor is bigger than your TV, y0s.

Eh. I don't think so. I had my Xbox 360 plugged into those HD components in the back. I couldn't put the thing on the HDTV, only standard. But it still played out of it. I couldn't tell a difference between using the HD Component look-alikes in the back of the TV and the regular one. I only did it so I could plug in my PS2.

You missed the point of what I said... Progressive scan was the predeccesor of HDTV, and it only applied to DVD's. and it was short lived... I was not calling your Tv an HDTV, or your xbox a progressive scan DVD player...
I was merely explaining your TV.
