Besides shakes what to you guys eat to get a lot of protein in, my usuals are almonds, yogurt, peanut butter, milk and sometimes string cheese besides the obvious shitload of lean meats.
Shakes are pretty good when I make them in the blender but at work I don't have access to one so breakfast is usually the only time I have to make a shake and would prefer a big breakfast of eggs etc than a shake.

Tuna. Tuna has a shit load of protein. My doctor recommended I eat a lot of it if I planned on doing any physical activity. (My metabolism is really fast... so, if I don't eat before or after strenuous physical activity, my muscles get really sore, and I've even had DOMS a few times. (When it feels like your muscles are dying and they tighten up.) It especially used to happen when I skateboarded. My body didn't have the protein to repair the muscle. lulz@meh.

Isn't too much tuna bad for you though?
If it's a large, long living breed it can have a higher concentration of mercury.

i try to drink low fat milk a lot. i'll also have a bagel w/ peanut butter. i think each bagel has like 9 grams of protein and peanut butter adds up too.

Assorted nuts(yeah, yeah insert joke here!) are good protein sources, are great for CLA's and EFA's as well. As shitty as it tastes, tofu is high in protein. Home made jerky is a quick way to get protein as well. When I compete, I take dry cottage cheese and mix in some Crystal light powder, and it tides me over any time I have a craving for something.

Most of the big ones have been mentioned here (nuts, poultry, tuna, etc). Can you buy a blender for work? Or is that not possible? GREAT protein shake:
2 cups of skim milk
3 scoops of protein
1 heaping scoop of peanut butter
1 scoop of ovaltine
1 banana
Some crushed ice
Enjoy :)

I drink a lot of the boost low glucose shakes (16g protein, 3-4g sugar) and steak thats practically raw.
I do this for different reasons than you guys, but i have noticed its put mass on my body... which has not been the intention.

Protein won't do much to raise your blood sugar. Take in complex carbs to burn throughout the day(rice, potatoes, bagels, etc.) Simple carbs(fruits, vegetables, sugars) will raise your sugars quickly, but won't last too long.

i dont eat fruits, they make me crash. carbs help, but dont have any legs. i have to have protein or i get weak and dizzy.
the natural peanut butter works pretty well. the stuff dillons sells tends to only have a few grams of sugar per serving.

Gotcha. Protein will actually help slow down carbs from being burnt up in your body. So that makes sense. Breads and grains should help as well.
Sorry if I sounded like an ass. I'm a diabetic, so I kind of understand where you're coming from.

Have you been diagnosed? You might actually have a condition there. This will sound fucking weird, but if you don't eat a bunch of food does your piss turn dark almost like Dr. Pepper? The guy I lift with is 42 eats 7 times a day, takes in a 900 calorie shake just to maintain 154.4 lbs. Eat 8 times and he may see 155 (it is the most he has EVER weighed). If he drops to 2 or 3 meals, not only does his piss turn pop colored but he will just start losing weight. I'll find out the name of it if for some weird ass reason you have dark urine. Cause its an actual condition.

Not weird at all. But no, there is little variation in my urine. Nothing that would raise a flag, certainly nothing i could derive a correlation from.
And thats really the problem. Finding correlations. I've noticed that if i eat a lot of protein and carbs, i have energy more consistently. If i cut out sugar, i dont crash near as often.
Now i'm trying to figure out why caffeine will have me buzzed sometimes, and not do shit others.

The energy from protein and carbs make sense because the protein sustains the carbs longer in your system. Sugars will make you crash because simple sugars break down very quickly, which will give you a quick rush, but burns very fast, causing you to crash.
As far as the caffeine, it could be in relations to you hydration. Caffeine is a natural diuretic. If your not hydrated properly, the caffeine can play tricks to your body.
It may have something to do with your digestion system. Might want to ask your doctor to do some tests to see if he can find something. Just a thought.

Glad I came back to this thread. I'll get the name of the disorder. Urine is just a tell sign, not the only one. You show some of the other symptoms. Good news is that its nothing life threatening. More than likely you will just be very skinny your entire life (if you had this). I'm emailing him now.

You'll lose strength quicker in upper body movements than lower body movements because your wrist and elbow joints are smaller than your knees. When you start losing weight, you lose water and fat in your joints which act as lubricant, so you have more friction happening in them.
