Today Obama received the worlds highest honored award, the Noble Peace Prize. My question is that do you think they were looking at his intentions?

Obviously, with only 25% of the nation supporting the decision, its easy to say most of you will not agree with the award. I'm just trying to understand the mindset.

Last week we announced 30,000 more troops to defend a country and we are in two wars. Do you believe that short term (yes years) war is necessary for long-term peace?

I'm very apathetic to the situation being that it doesn't directly effect me in any way at the current time.

I'm still of the opinion that he hasn't done anything peaceful... So I'm not sure why he got a peace prize.

It was Obamamania.

That is truly the only explanation. People were drinking the kool-aid hard and were thinking 'change' and mesmerized by the hollow promises of something who, dare I say it, looked different and offered free stuff to everyone.

This. Intent is not what should determine recipients. This has cheapened every other winners accomplishments imo.

I didn't vote for Obama but I don't think his opponent would have been any better. As for the Nobel...I thought it was a joke when I first heard about it and I agree that him receiving it cheapens other award winner's accomplishments. Can they take it away now that he has promoted more war? I like his timing of the troop withdraw plan...right before he campaigns to be re-elected...

The only change I have seen is that motherfucker is $1.5 million dollars richer after winning that joke of a Nobel Prize. That is unless he donates it then I see no change.
