Most fat burners are based on the ECA(ephedrine, caffeine, asprin) stack or form there of. We all know what caffeine does to the system, gives you a quick pick up, but can make you crash after a couple hours. Ephedrine is a bronchial dilator, it opens up the bronchial tubes and lets more oxygen into the system, which increases your metabolism. It has the same problem as caffeine though and can make you crash after an hour or two. That's what the asprin(or white willow bark), is there for. It prolongs the effects of the caffeine and ephedrine over a 6-8 hour time base, so you can come down on a more gradual time frame to prevent you from crashing.
Losing fat quickly, is actually not the best thing to do. That's where the yoyo effect happens. Your body can't handle usually more than a 1-2lb. loss in weight per week. After a couple of months of losing weight at a rapid state, your body thinks it's going to go in a starvation mode, and starts to store any calories that you consume as body fat for emergency.
Best way to lose weight is to naturally increase your own metabolism with proper excercise and nutrtion. Eat lots of food(healthy food) several times a day to increase your metabolism, and do some cardio. 20 minutes of cardio right when you wake up, before eating anything is actually more effective in burning fat, than doing an hour of cardio in the afternoon or evening. Your body has no food in it's stomache right when you wake up, so it has to use body fat as it's energy source.

How much do you want to lose and how fast?
I'm a bit of an energy junky.
Fastest most potent is Phentermine.
Plenty of others. Just let me know what your looking for (ie. how long do you want it to last, do you want appetite suppressant or energy)
If you want energy I got a HP of Caribou french roast here.

You get a rep for this one. Dead on right. Although you can fool the body with the right drug to lose weight.
The best (and healthiest) is smaller meals every 2-3 hours. Also, a bit of exercise per day is great.

that's where I'm headed. Have a client, then training legs. Yeah! (legs aren't really my favorite)
I live near an major airforce base... i.e. next door. lol.
So in my vicinity there is a bike path that follows some really long straight roads.... when I head west I can barely over come the wind and it's constant... by the time I turn around I'm almost dead.
The ride back is insane though. I'm riding a fixed gear, so I have one medium speed and I cannot coast, so my heart rate is maintained through the roof like nothing I've ever done before. My legs are getting cut this summer... for real.

ECA stack + cardio 3-4 times a week + proper diet = 11lbs shed in 7 weeks for me.
Only got a day or two left of the ECA, then gonna take 2-3 weeks off. HOpefully I can start it back again and get the appetite supression back. Only need to lose like 7 more pounds though.

I'm AFLCA and Can Fit Pro certified. To be honest though, I've been doing personal training for 13 years, and those courses teach you very little about "actual" personal training. They don't show you the proper technique or form on most exercises. Actual life experience is the best. I managed gyms for years and am a competitive all natural body builder. I've sat down with, and trained with several IFBB pro bodybuilders over the years as well. People can usually tell if a personal trainer knows what he/she is doing.
I've trained competitive fitness/figure/body builders, professional MMA fighters, NHL and WHL hockey players, and Olympic medalists, but I enjoy training the average person who just wants to get in or stay in shape the best. They are the ones who appreciate it and are thankful the most.
If you are planning on being a trainer, the best advise I can give you is, listen to your clients and give them the attention they deserve. Too many trainers have a generic program that they put just about every one on. Men don't always want to gain muscle and women don't always want to lose weight. Every person has their own "ideal" image of what they want to look like. It's not up to us to determine what their end result should be. Make sure to set the programs out for their specific goals. And spend the time to make sure they are doing the exercises properly and can actually feel it in the appropriate muscles that they are suppose to be working.
Sorry for the rant, fitness is my life, so I tend to be very opinionated about it!

Sure. No problem.
The middle aged female is where the money's at. They are the ones willing to fork out the cash and spend the time in doing it. Best source of income for a personal trainer.

How long to cycle off the ECA stack before starting again to regain the appetite supression?
I took the stack for 7 1/2 weeks and have been off it about a week now. My appetite was suppressed for about 3 or 4 of those weeks. Plan on taking one more 4 or 5 week stack to finish up my cut. Just wondering how long I need to stay off it.

Ive kinda got a problem, I need to loose about 30 lbs.... I've got a gym membership and ive been going every other day for 20 min doing mostly arms/shoulders/chest.
My issue is, I know the idea is to get your metabolism up....but I don't have one anymore - or at least a real one. I've had thydroid cancer so it's been removed and I just take the supplement for it now. No one has been able to give me good advice so far :(

You expect to lose 30lbs from that? Thats 20mins of anaerobic training and you aren't doing that right either. Find yourself a reputable beginners program and start training aerobically properly. Don't just hope you're ass on a treadmill. And diet is the most crucial factor in losing weight FYI. If you have any questions just ask.

No, but it was a start to get me in the gym :crap:
I really can't get on a treadmill either, i've got replacement hips too so I don't want to fuck them up by continual pounding on them (it's not like you get a warranty with them, even after $100,000)
I guess the best thing I can do is get on the stationary bike and peddle my ass off :uhoh:

FDA announces recall of popular diet pill
Hydroxycut linked to reports of liver damage, other health problems
BREAKING NEWS
The Associated Press
updated 11:00 a.m. MT, Fri., May 1, 2009
WASHINGTON - U.S. government health officials warned dieters and body builders Friday to immediately stop using Hydroxycut, a widely sold Canadian-made supplement linked to cases of serious liver damage and at least one death.
The Food and Drug Administration said the maker of the dietary supplement has agreed to recall 14 Hydroxycut products. Available in grocery stores and pharmacies, Hydroxycut is advertised as made from natural ingredients. At least 9 million packages were sold last year, the FDA said.
Dr. Linda Katz of the FDA's food and nutrition division said the agency has received 23 reports of liver problems, including the death of a 19-year-old boy living in the Southwest. The teenager died in 2007, and the death was reported to the FDA this March.
Other patients experienced symptoms ranging from jaundice, or yellowing of the skin, to liver failure. One received a transplant and another was placed on a list to await a new liver.
There was no immediate comment from the U.S. distributor of the diet pill, Iovate Health Sciences, headquartered near Buffalo, New York. Hydroxycut is used by people trying to shed pounds and by body builders to sharpen their muscles.
Dietary supplements aren't as tightly regulated by the government as medications. Manufacturers don't need to prove to the FDA that their products are safe and effective before they can sell them to consumers. But regulators monitor aftermarket reports for signs of trouble, and in recent years companies have been put under stricter requirements to alert the FDA when they learn of problems.
Katz said it has taken so long to get a handle on the Hydroxycut problem because the cases of liver damage were rare and the FDA has no authority to review supplements before they're marketed. "Part of the problem is that the FDA looks at dietary supplements from a post-market perspective, and an isolated incident is often difficult to follow," she said.
The FDA relies on voluntary reports to detect such problems, and many cases are never reported, officials acknowledge.
Health officials said they have been unable to determine which Hydroxycut ingredients are potentially toxic, partially because the formulation of the products has changed several times. A medical journal report last month raised questions about one ingredient, hydroxycitric acid, derived from a tropical fruit. The article said it could potentially damage the liver.
