im not. Paint will probably be the same color it just needs new paint. Rims will be stock size and no chrome, black. Tint will not be really dark but it is chipped and peeling in a couple places.

Nod, makes sense. I'm curious if they are ever going to reenable the launch mode? If not, wouldn't the first gen be the one to have?

Makes sense to me. Seemed like lots of work, but you want the power of a higher model but the handling of the 3. Sorta like making the higher end ones, but overall should be cheaper.

Unless the paint is in bad condition, I don't see the point in re-painting it. Wheels...if it's over 19", you're doing it wrong. Lights...are the stock ones that bad? Interior...what exactly is wrong with it? All you need is a comfortable place to plant your ass, a comfortable wheel and shifter.
Engine is understandable, but if you wanted more power, why not get something older that might be less luxurious, but more powerful?

I disagree with everything here.
I probably should make assumptions, but I guessing the paint is bad since its 7 years old and he's sticking to the stock color. He already said he's sticking to stock size wheels just a different style... hopefully lighter and wider with wider tires. I've always thought HIDs were a good idea depending on where you do a lot of your driving, especially since he's doing projectors at the same time. Interior, same as the paint, I don't think anyone would suggest replacing perfectly good parts just for the sake of doing it. If he just wanted comfortable seats, wheel, and shifter he could have saved even more and gotten a civic.
Engine is what I really don't understand. Unless he plans on doing it far down the line and this is a progressive project/doesn't have the money right now, he would have been better off just getting an M3. I know the M3 has a higher initial cost/maintenance/insurance etc. but it would be near the same price, less of a headache, and more of a well rounded car by going with the M.
OP, nothing wrong with wanting to mod to your taste. Do what makes you happy.
So basically, you're agreeing with most of what I said?

Paint is chipped on hood and the chips are starting to rust again 7 years old. Interior good condition except for a few places and the fabric is a little loose on the a-pillars. This car came from florida and heat did that.

Thinking about painting it?
I would rather it be removed but since I don't know how it held on there I guess painting would work. I've just always hated seeing cars like that.
Since when is 90k high? If your vehicles are breaking before 150k you are doing it wrong
90k is still breaking it in :grin3:

Idk what i am going to do. If i keep this car i need to replace the center console, shifter boot, plate around shifter with window switches, rear passenger window switch, cubbyhole/compartments in front of shifter, drivers door seal, washer fluid pump, and buy a piece of trim for the rear drivers side door.
Everything on that list is cosmetic except for the washer fluid pump. Knowing bmw i am going to pay out the ass for this. It just seems like it would be a better idea to get a 330i in better shape and not spend any money on this car.

Makes sense to me. Seemed like lots of work, but you want the power of a higher model but the handling of the 3. Sorta like making the higher end ones, but overall should be cheaper.
Why bring back something that voids the warranty when you use it?
