i have rock solid service as well. usually better than most.

but IMO, different carriers do certain locations better. t-mobile works great here. at my buddies house i would have 5 bars, while his sprint phone kept saying its searching for service. IMHO, when looking for a carrier, find one that covers the areas you are in most often well, and go with them.

I live in the heart of Miami. Well, not heart. But I live 10 minutes south of Downtown. 20 minutes to South Beach (the main beach.) It was just really shitty where I went to school / stay around a lot. Which is odd, because the places I'd be were really upper middle class places, and everyone had a Sidekick. The reception just sucked dick.
With my iPhone, I never lose reception. And if I do, I gain it right back with in 30 seconds.

No i can definatly read a bill....i know a few people who work for sprint directly and would gladly tell you the issues they have to deal with on a daily basis fixing billing stuff. If you have never had to call in to get erroneous (seemingly random) charges taken off your bill then you are most likely the luckiest man alive and also on the better of their 2 billing systems (part of the mess they got when they picked up nextel)

The Diamond is still available, as is the Touch Pro. If I were you, I'd just wait for the Pre, or the Touch Pro 2 coming soon.

I also know people that work for Sprint and they are told to offer the customer something whenever they complain. They have recently cut that back though. I am with T-Mobile 700 minute family plan with unlimited blackberry and I think 1000 texts a month.

I have been very happy with T-Mobile so far, unlike Sprint I can call and speak to an actual person who uses English as a first language within a few minutes and they have never fucked up my bill.

When I was with Sprint it was not so much the billing issues as anytime I would get a new phone and be promised 'free' activation I would get a $35 fee on my next bill. That was not the big issue though, the issue was that I would sit on hold for 30 minutes only to speak to some Indian with horrible broken English and argue with them for another 10 minute until being put on hold for another 30 minutes only to finally be put on the phone with some other loser foreign asshole.

The service was not as good as T-Mobile has (nor was the data as fast) but the lack of customer service that made me leave.

That's the thing, It doesn't happen considerably more with Sprint. Sprint has gotten a bad rep from their past, but it's not the same now. Verizon has customers so loyal, that they can royaly fuck them in the ass month after month, and they'll just bend over and take it.

I have the HTC Touch and I love this phone. It can run pretty much anything on it. Right now I'm running a custom ROM and its amazing.

I have heard bad things about the Diamond. It tends to freeze up alot. My friend upgraded his Touch for the Diamond, and after a few weeks, he went back to the Touch. I have heard good things about the Touch Pro, however. The thickness of the Touch Pro is left to be desired though. I think my next phone will be the Touch Pro 2 when it comes in May.

As far as phone quality is concerned, my personal preference is LG. Excellent battery life, excellent reliability, and I've never had a problem with a single one.
