My dad is wanting to install some real nice in wall speakers for a small HT system in his room, does anybody have some good ones in mind, also he needs a good reciever, not sure on how much he wants to spend but something reasonable and something that will give great sound.
thanks

I used Klipsch plates for my first home and they were decent. Overall, I hadn't personally heard any really impressive in wall speakers. If wanting a diy solution then pick midbass drivers suited for IB applications basically.

Are wall-mounted bookshelf speakers an option?

That wouldn't have made a difference. The midbass was lacking severely compared to any decent cabinet. I am not just referencing mine.

Yeah. A friend of mine had 2 in a pillar behind the couch, two in the roof, then he had 2 cabinets on axis with the ear on either side of the couch, then two cabinets in the front. If you turned the cabinets off, it kinda sounded like ass.

Are you going to be adding a sub to the setup?

I haven't heard these, but I'd love for someone to try this set out and write a little review. I am very curious about them. I would consider it, if I was working :(

possibly but if the wall mounts serve justice then he probably wont add a sub, he just wants to get some real nice sound in the room, he will be needing a nice reciever also, im pretty much clueless on the HT aspect of things

Usher makes good stuffs.
Couple of those paired with a 10" would make a great bedroom setup.

They look nice and in relation to some other options, they seem to be a good value if they sound nice.
