lol, i had an 89 Cutlas Cierra and i was on my way home from work when my car started sputtering. i pull into a gas station and the car just sputtered more and died. i kept trying to start the car and it wouldn't go. so i called a friend who's a mechanic and he couldn't get the car to start. so i ended up having the car taken to a shop. the next day they call me they tried everything and couldn't find out what the problem was, so as a last resort they put 5 dollars of gas in the car and it started up and ran fine. turned out my gas guage was off a bit. :/
5 dollars of gas turned into 80 dollars of "labor"

I learned the hard way that the gas gauge on the s-10 is a 1/4 tank off. :crap:
Damn digital gauges.
And now I think the floater in the tank is sticking because now the gauge always reads full. So now whenever I take it to shows I have to fill it up for fear that it may be getting close to empty. FML.

Older digital gauges are bad about being Inaccurate, the newer ones will ride 20-40 miles on 0.

That's where a trip meter is handy, I know my car can safely go 350 highway miles before I need to look for a gas station so I just hit the trip at every fill.
