Yeah the MyTouch 3G is terrible with the MSM7k processor. It's very slow. The new Slide version, I heard is a huge improvement. They are now using the "turbo" version of the same processor which can also be found in the Hero.

Honestly, you've picked some great phones. It's hard to decide. The BB has shown remarkable reliability and are known to be great communication devices. The Slide is pretty "cutting edge" and will only improve over time. I'm currently running a port of the MT3GS ROM. It's very stable, and fast. It's also very polished and complete. HTC did a great job with the Sense UI specific to this phone.
