That isn't extreme... It's actually pretty typical around our shop. Working for your father is fun at times. LOL

All that fighting is so fucking fake. A company who fought within management that much would never get anything accomplished.

I disagree and agree. While I also think it is embellished, I do think your assumption that the business would go no where is wrong. They have notoriety thanks to the TV show. That alone will sell a product. They aren't directly involved in making sure the product bikes that sell on the daily go out. People will buy their product as long as it is hyped (arguably over-hyped) by media, people will buy, they will hire people to build them, they will break office appliances.

Oh and there was quite a bit of bickering by the owners of a media distribution warehouse I worked at, yet they made money.
The owners aren't the ones keeping the company rolling is what it boils down to.

I'm just saying, unless there are other people doing the heavy managing besides the two always fighting, products aren't going to get sold because they aren't going to get made.

What you have to remember is that a fight might last 30 minutes or so but there are a lot of hours in a day.
My dad and I used to fight that way, and still do on occasion. But, we still get everything done on time and when it needs to be done.
The fighting is just the way a few fathers & sons interact.

Some companies are that way. But, with the one I work at the owners keep it rolling. The workers are just a cog in the machine. ;)

I don't doubt that.
Generally employees are unreliable and produce low quality work, unless you are riding their ass.
We just had one quit because we wouldn't give her every Saturday off so she could watch her son play soccer. Here is the interesting part, the majority of her sales took place on Saturdays, she is a single mother with not many marketable skills, I would almost always hear stories from her about going out and partying on the weekends (many times with parts of, "I was so drunk I passed out and woke up in this guys bed" or "I think someone might have slipped me something", so I really don't think this was about her son), and she always complained about not making enough money. But, with commissions she was getting upwards of $20/hour. (rural area where you can make a hell of a living on $41,600)

I do, and you should.
