Are fucking awesome.
Just picked them up.
The "Bass Amplified Subwoofer" AA powered inline driver is fucking amazing.
The bass output is unbelievable.
Unlike most other skullcandy headphones, the High's are not muffled at all.
Updates:
right now, it seems like anything under ~35hz is just gone.
is plays well down to 35, but after that. its poop.
using a sine sweep.
Definitely pick them up if you find them for ~$50.

Have you used any other high end brands? UE, Phonak, Shure, etc? I'm wanting to know because I'd like comparisons to those. I had the monster buds (wrote a long review on caraudio about them) they were too bass heavy for me.
I've been using the phonaks for some time and love them. Light, well balanced sound neutral and clear.

i have heard seinheisers (sp?), bose, i forget what line of sure, my friend has them, one of the high end sony sets.
i mean, they arent $500 head phones, but for 60 bucks, they do the job well.
you can adjust the bass level also so it isnt always blasting in your ears.

i think best buy sells them for like 70.

so far with the bass level @ 15-20% it blends perfectly.
Doesn't distort until bass level is ~90%.
It starts sounding a little muffled with the bass level @ 70%.
anything above 30% is a overkill for normal listening.
the ear pads are super comfortable. it is semi-noise cancelling.
Very punchy and very accurate. on fast metal songs you can hear each kick beat very clearly.
on rap with low bass like late night tip, etc it is ok. as of right now it doesnt pick up alot of the low low notes. ~45-80hz basslines are intense.
They dont distort until what ever you have them plugged into hits around ~90% volume.
i tried it on my laptop, phone, ipod, and zune. same with all 4.

hmm i always had doubts about spending a lot of cash on headphones. i always bought the ones that are like $10. i always thought they were fine. yet all i see on the internet is "garbage this, garbage that" (like the Jizz) so i finally decided to step it up, partly due to this thread and the fact that i had a gift card. i bought some sennheiser hd428s from bestbuy for $75. http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/home_en.nsf/root/private_headphones_wired-headphones_502765
so, now that i feel like i got ripped off for $65, you couldnt convince me those $200+ or whatever head phones are worth a damn. fuck yo expensive headphones. ill take my "shitty" ears and be $65 richer.

I got a pair of Sennheiser CX300 earbuds and I'm more than happy. And they were $20 off Amazon. They're nice and balanced. Perhaps a bit on the bass-heavy side, but I like my music like that. Yes, I'm aware they don't reproduce music perfectly, but that's my preference. Same reason I have 2 15s in my car. So fuckoff all you bitches and haters.

You basically bought the name with those headphones, a person could compare that to buying a Chevy Aveo compared to a Cadillac CTS-V. Nice thing about Best Buy is they have a no questions asked return policy, take them back if you don't like them after you've let them burn in for a while.

im sure the same could be said for the $200, 300, 400 and so on head phones.
here is the thing. its not that they dont sound good. they do (but to my ears, so do my jvc "gummy" ear buds which were like 10 bucks)
the thing is, i was expecting something that would wow me. in reality all it did was bring me back to reality which is, they're fucking headphones, and i am willing to bet money that if someone brought me a more expensive set to audition i still wouldnt be "wow'd".

If you want an upgrade from the gummies try out the JVC Airs (HAFX67B) You can get them at BB for under $30 and to me they sounded much better than the last set of gummies I had. To me they sound great and are the most comfortable set of buds I've ever owned, I'll almost forget I'm wearing them sometimes.

if you want something awesome for ear buds that are cheap.
pick up skullcandy ink'd.
they are like 10-15 bucks.
i have had 5 pairs so far.
lost 1 pair, another pair got blown because some dickhead on a airplane left the volume all the way up. and 2 pair got broken.

I've used many different headphones. A large assortment of shures. Headphones are very small drivers so if you go in thinking you are going to get phenomenal sound, you are always going to be let down. I would say it is much like expecting car audio to ever match home audio or home audio ever matching that of large venue or music hall.
Still, if you are happy with 10 dollar headphones, that is GREAT! I mean, music is all about perception. Perception of lyrics, tones, and quality of the sound. Why force yourself into something when you have something that works.
It really comes down to what your listening for etc. Some people want to just have something playing and some people want to hear a train driving past the recording studio.

Ng and I both. Light and comfy and changeable filters for different frequency response.
The customer service is SICK too. First time I messed them up the new pair was out front the next day. They sent them to me overnight priority from Canada. The 2nd time was just 2 days.
Nothing that they did, I just wear them out smashing the cable while riding.

I've always been a fan of over ear headphones, but they're uncomfortable now since my earlobes are getting bigger and bigger from the stretches and they don't fit in, so I've been hunting a comfortable in ear set for awhile.

Sofa King This. My little brother just bought another pair, which is his second in about five months. Because they were green. The reason he had to get another is because one of the buds went out. Shitty quality = cheap. I buy Vmoda, because they actually are made with good quality, and aren't arm&leg expensive. I got the bass freq buds, and I've had them for two years with no problem at all. I see an exposed wire, but I can't expect the aesthetics to be perfect after two years of heavy use.
http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab37/cocanostra/vmoda-earbuds-bass-freq.jpg
To read the summary on them:A powerful neodymium rare earth magnets produces deep yet precise bass levels in conjunction with BLISS noise-isolating technology. Warm mids and crisp highs blend seamlessly with the vibrant bass so that the lows don't compromise the overall sound quality of the entire spectrum. The dynamic driver delivers a warm, clear and natural sound as opposed to the distant and mechanical sound of other manufacturers' in-ear models that cost more than double Bass Freq's value-based price. The combination of superior sound quality, unique design and style, and extreme comfort at such a great value won Bass Freq the 2006 CNET Editor's Choice Award. Revolutionary Bass Bliss * Deep yet precise bass levels you can actually feel * Powerful bass designed to recreate the sensation and sounds of the world's finest clubs and concert venues High-Fashion Colors and Style * Modaphones adapt to your music and fashion style rather than dictate it * Complement the color of your iPod/MP3 player, accessories, and clothing * Mix and match colors to create your own unique style Noise Isolating Technology * Bass Level Isolating Soft Silicone (BLISS) technology reduces noise and enables deep bass * Unlike bulky active noise cancellation, BLISS introduces no artificial sound into your music and requires no batteries Full Sound Spectrum Clarity * Warm mids and crisp highs that blend seamlessly with the vibrant bass * Natural and present sound similar to that of a live music experience Comfortable and Secure * Comfortable, light weight, and secure fit (3 sizes of fittings included) * Endures strenuous activities including working out, DMV lines, and running * Optimal even-length cables

The question was to find out if a system to you is a 2000 watt amp and a couple of subs, or if it's something a lot more balanced.
If all you've done is subs that would go a long way to explain why you think am extremely bass heavy, weak otherwise set of headphones sound amazing.
